The wine comes first

I created Vinipedia Sommelier’s Table in 2013 around a simple idea: to place wine at the centre of the evening.

Each course begins with the wine. I introduce it and we taste it first on its own. The dish is then served and presented by the chef.

You taste the wine twice: first on its own, then with the dish.

Your Sommelier’s Table

Each Sommelier’s Table is created around the wines, the occasion and the people sharing it.

I build the sequence of wines, work with the chef on the menu and pairings, and host the evening from the first glass to the last.

For private occasions, a Dîner Privé brings the same approach to your own table, with wine at the heart of the experience.

Since 2013

51 numbered editions

Dîner Privé evenings have also been created for private tables.

The first Sommelier’s Table took place on 20 November 2013. Since then, the series has brought together different chefs, cuisines and settings, always with wine leading the evening.

Berlin 65

Berlin 65 is the historic dining carriage at Istanbul’s Rahmi M. Koç Museum. Built in Görlitz in 1907, it was presented by Kaiser Wilhelm II to Sultan Mehmed V Reşad in 1917 and later restored by the museum.

It became a recurring setting for Sommelier’s Table, hosting both numbered editions and private dinners.

36th Sommelier’s Table · 2018

For the 36th edition, on 24 February 2018, Sommelier’s Table moved into artist İsmail Acar’s studio with Chef Pınar İshakoğlu. Guests discovered the studio with the artist before taking their places at the table.
